After a weekend spent in Chicago, we hopped back on the road and drove to St. Louis again before heading home to California. We saved the best for last and spent our last two nights at Chase Park Plaza. This historic hotel, dating back to the 1930s, is absolutely charming and beautiful with its elegant art deco design and luxurious amenities. Not only did our grand yet comfortable suite had a high ceiling, it also overlooked the pool and had a view of Forest Park. My favorite part of the property though is the outdoor courtyard area, especially that stunning archway along side the pool. Did I mention how Chase Park Plaza is conveniently located as well? It is in the Central West End neighborhood surrounded by restaurants (Mission Taco was amazing and you can get $2 tacos during happy hour) and bars (like Gamlin Whiskey House and Sub Zero Vodka Bar ). It is also very close to Downtown and all the St. Louis attractions such as Forest Park, the Art Museum, the Zoo, Busch Stadium, the Arch, etc. We had such a wonderful stay, thanks for hosting us, Chase Park Plaza!

While in St. Louis, we decided to take a road trip to Chicago for the weekend because why not? I have never been and it was only 4 hours or so away (well, actually it turned out to be 6 since we hit tons of traffic going there). We stayed at Sofitel which was in the heart of Magnificent Mile near all the shops and restaurants. Our room was high up with a beautiful city view and modern decor that was right up my alley. We were welcomed personally by one of the managers, staff was attentive and we were greeted by the most delectable champagne and treats. Believe it or not, often times when I go on blogging trips, I encounter problems such as people not knowing what is going on in terms of collaborations/partnerships I had previously worked out due to lack of communications on the other end. This was not the case, Sofitel was definitely up to par! Oh Chicago, you took my breath away... you reminded me of New York but a bit mellower and cleaner. You stole a piece of my heart and I shall be back soon!

It is currently 12:30am as I am typing this with my eyes half closed. I had a really long work day (long week actually), came home and literally lied on my bed for a good hour before showering, eating, and editing these photos. I am exhausted but I need to get these posts up so here you go... another #ootd from Chicago! I wanted a very urban vibe to go with the very cool Chicago cityscape. So I opted for a white tee with laced up details, denim skirt from Madewell, these awesome sneakers (so comfortable I feel like walking on clouds) by SKYE Footwear, and a tote bag by Herschel. Ok that's all I've got for now! Zzz...

So I finally made it to the Midwest! After three and a half hours in the sky, we arrived in St. Louis and checked into our suite at The Cheshire. The Cheshire, located right next to the beautiful Forest Park, is so charming! Each room is themed after a British author and we got the Peter Rabbit room overlooking the Tudor styled property and the beautiful pool. On the other side of the building, there is a really cute courtyard with oversized chess pieces (totally photo worthy). The highlight of our stay though had to be our dining experience at The Boundary. We started with a couple of drinks, I had a glass of rosé while Jeremy opted for his go-to old fashioned. For appetizers, we (by we, I mean I, since Jeremy is allergic to fish/seafood) had the tuna poke and this out-of-this-world oysters with steak tartare and ponzu on top. We also had a cheese plate and this melt-in-your-mouth smoked pork ribs. Don't ask why we had four appetizers and yes we were pretty much full by the time we got our entrées. My sea scallops atop a plate of creamy risotto was delicious and Jeremy's steak frites was pretty much gone before I could even ask how it tasted. The Boundary was amazing, the staff was attentive, and the vibe was great. Needless to say, we suffered a major food coma but we shall be back next time we are in STL. Thanks for hosting us, Cheshire!

Turning another year older today (#birthday) and thinking about how one's priorities change throughout the years. Older and wiser perhaps? Who knows. What I do know is that life is too short to be doing things that don't give you joy. Traveling is rewarding and satisfying and I set goals for myself to travel at least once a month this year and so far so good! I recently visited St. Louis and spent a lovely afternoon in Forest Park. The Jewel Box, a conservatory, is such a little gem. Coincidentally, my mint colored lace dress matched its exterior perfectly. I am definitely not complaining about that though!
