Come to think of it, I like dressing down as much as I like dressing up. Obviously, if I am going to an event or heading to a fancy dinner, I will get dolled up. Otherwise, I suppose I am usually fairly casual. An oversized top with sandals just seems much more appealing than a dress with heels on most days, particularly last Monday. It was gloomy but we headed out anyways. I threw on a linen tunic top, legging jeans, pink fedora, and sandals by Sanuk. These yoga slinglet sandals are made from real yoga mat material providing great cushioning. Needless to say, my feet felt great after walking all over Golden Gate Park and then walking even more along the beach! You really have to try them out yourself to believe its amazingness!

I always get a little bummed when winter comes to an end and I can no longer wear capes. But that no longer applies! Finally, there is a cape I can wear in the summertime! This tangerine colored lightweight cape by Ellsworth & Ivey is one of my favorite things this summer! It is seriously awesome and perfect for this San Francisco Bay Area weather when the temperature drops a little in the evening. I paired it with a palm floral print tunic dress, nude heels, and this lovely scalloped leather clutch! I have never been a fan of orange or coral of any kind but this cape might just change my mind!

Wearing sandals in the summertime is nothing groundbreaking, but that doesn't mean you can't shake things up a bit. What better way to stand out in a sea of sandals than DIY your own pair? It's not rocket science, all you need are some crafty items, a pair of scissors, glue, 10-15 minutes, and of course sandals. Shall we begin?
03diysandals
1. Grab a plain pair of sandals from the back of your closet that you want to jazz up or do what I did and get these black and white ones from F21. I love how simple they are and the wider strap makes it easier to work with.
04diysandals
2. Gather your tools and embellishments. It really depends on what you want to do with your sandals... jewels, beads, studs, etc. The possibility is endless! For my DIY, I decided to use flat-back pearls and striped ribbon (both purchased from Michaels).

3. I started with the black pair and simply glued each pieces of pearls carefully onto the strap. Easy as that!

4. The white pair was a bit trickier since I had to measure and cut the exact amount of ribbon that is going to cover the entire strap. Once the ribbon is ready, I applied glue onto the back and carefully placed onto the strap.

Voila! Just like that and I've got my new sandals that no one else has!

Summer is just around the corner and I've got a serious case of wanderlust. Dreaming up the perfect tropical getaway is exciting but the thought of packing isn't so much fun. Although swimwear tends to take up very little room, I still try to think of ways to pack as light as possible. Because I am a girl and I have only two feet but somehow I bring six pairs of shoes even if it's just for the weekend! One of my solution is mix and match swimwear. When you have tops and bottoms that can be interchangeable, 4 pieces of swimwear can get you 4 different looks instead of 2! Pretty brilliant, right?

I am sure you all know of Tutti Frutti as a frozen yogurt chain, but did you know that it means "All Fruits" in Italian? Well, I didn't. A fruit print chiffon dress with embroidered watermelon, pineapple, pear, cherry, apple and banana, paired with a peachy apple bag... this outfit of mine sure is the epitome of Tutti Frutti! Another thing I love about this dress is how the tied waist details in the front makes it look like a two-piece! Sneaky sneaky! Anyways, this is getting me real excited for summer, even though the past few days have been nothing but gloomy. Hope everything cheer up soon!
