First of all, Happy Leap Day! Last Sunday the 26th was our anniversary, 1 year since we got engaged and 8 years since we've been together. I wanted to dress fancy and I was feeling quite girly, so this blush colored blouse with a collar that looks like it was made out of petals was perfect! It is adorable and oddly enough it is the exact same shade as the lining of the lace dress... with the two together, you can almost get tricked into thinking that it is one piece. I love it! These photographs were taken at the Berkeley rose garden, Chris and I met at freshmen orientation at UC Berkeley so Berkeley holds a special place in our hearts. We spent the day strolling through campus and throughout the east bay, then ended with a delicious dinner at Trattoria La Siciliana, their dish "Ravioli Porcini Trifolati" is one of the best thing I've ever eaten, just look at my face in the last photo! :)

I wish I was in a real garden having a fancy tea party, or at least I would wear this outfit to one! Alas, it is just a wall! It sure is beautiful though. Lately I have been enjoying layering pieces together to create the ultimate matching outfits. The crochet collar is actually part of the mustard blouse underneath the lavender floral dress. I wore a cardigan of the exact shade of lavender on top, along with mustard tights and this awesome bag that I can't seem to get enough of! And wow I just realized (as I am typing and looking at these photos) that the blouse, the bag and shoes are not only mustard, they are mustard AND cream. How fantastic!

I was feeling casual so I threw some polkadots on, slipped into my velvet flats, and called it a day! I love the mint color of this vintage high waisted denim skirt, I'll take mint colored anything any day! The top is just a casual tee but the layering ruffles on the front makes it more fun and definitely gives the entire outfit more shapes. Polkadots on polkadots might seem a little too much but when they are of softer hues and more subtle then it's ok!

I might have had a little too much fun, but a Gossip Girl blast is only appropriate to start off this post. This look is partially coincidental, I only had on the collared chiffon blouse and the dress at first. Shipment had just arrived when I got to work that morning, I saw this striped blazer, tried it on and didn't want to take it off. It wasn't until I looked in the mirror that I realized I was channeling Blair Waldorf, she would have totally worn this outfit in season one of Gossip Girl back in her Constance days. Pattern on pattern with matching color scheme, preppy chic at its best! Although the material of the blazer isn't that great, I do love the floral lining which you can see when you fold the sleeves and it looks so cute next to the pearl buttons on the cuffs of my blouse!

Here I am, standing in front of the "Raining Acorns" mural by local Santa Cruz artist Bob von Elgg. I love this wall, it is big and fun, and I love how the acorns are quite cartoonish. I decided to play with the mustard color of the acorns by wearing a mustard dominated outfit! I absolutely adore this vintage coat! I find that most mustard colored coat are usually a muted mustard or ogre mustard, so when I came across this bright marigold mustard coat I knew I had to have it! OMG! It has a fur peter pan collar too! How amazing is that? Oh and this bag... so very mod looking but don't let it trick you, it is not vintage! I love how the mustard with cream and brown matched nicely with my coat and shoes!

This stripes and floral chiffon maxi dress is definitely one of the more interesting vintage pieces I own. I have never seen anything like it! It is, however, extremely big and I had intended to alter it but after much thoughts I decided to keep its original shape, mainly because if I alter it I will lose the pleated details around the waist. So, to make it work I wore a lace cropped motorcycle jacket over it to conceal all the extra fabric but at the same time still able to showcase the flowy bottom half. Lastly, I kept the dress off the ground with a pair of Jeffrey Campbell x LF exclusive "The Stunning" which I can't stop wearing lately!

What an adventure this day was! It was a gorgeous day, sunny but chilly, my friend Jackie and I literally hiked down a cliff by the ocean in our Jeffrey Campbells. Imagine two petite ladies (Jackie being under 5 feet and me just a couple inches above) in our chunky JCs, walking through trails of muddy grounds, carefully yet dangerously climbing down a rocky cliff. At least Jackie was wearing shorts, I was in a maxi dress! We had so much fun though, we even took a video on the way back up the cliff (watch the video at the end of this post). Now, back to my outfit... I just so happen to have this knit sweater and pleated maxi dress in the same exact shade of apricot and polkadots, so I decided to wear them together to create a fun and interesting look! They are so similar yet so different! To further make this outfit even more matchy matchy, I wore my pom pom beret with my Chloé satchel and "The Stunning" which is a Jeffrey Campbell x LF exclusive.
