I admit I look a little preppy here with the collar, the sweater, the corduroy, and the giant bookbag. As you look from head to toe, you will see that instead of wearing a pair of oxfords or loafers to go with the preppy outfit, I have on the amazing Kennyya wedges by Steve Madden. I thought the towering height and the eye-catching knit fabric would be a nice twist and thus make this outfit less preppy and more chic. I bought them the moment they came out online, I just could not resist the beautiful knit details and the nude patent leather! Not to mention they are really comfortable too!

I hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving! Chris and I went to my parents' in Oakland to celebrate and we managed to do a quick shoot at Lake Merritt. I got this vintage cape awhile ago but saved it to wear on Thanksgiving Day with this frilly dress I got from work. With its heavy brocade details and rich shade of olive, this cape is truly unique and gorgeous. I have never seen anything like it! As for the dress, I always love anything frilly... but what I really love is the color. That golden shade of ogre yellow is something I do not see very often, not to mention how perfectly it matches my cape! To complete the look, I threw on these chunky sequined boots for fun. Brocade and sequins... a little too much or not enough?Vintage 60s brocade tapestry cape from Holliezhobbiez.

Spontaneity at its best. I threw on the sweater last minute due to the cold weather, I didn't want to cover up my stripes top but I actually like how it turned out with only a little bit of it peeking out. With the colorblock hat of the same nude and black combo, the stripes in their entirety would have been slightly overwhelming. Everything fell into place afterall. Oh, and just to warn you, I have an amazing outfit planned for thanksgiving... so stay tuned!

I broke out of my shell a little today and wore black! Although I do own a good amount of clothing in black, I am just not very fond of wearing it. I thrifted this amazing vintage half polkadots and half sheer blouse for only $1.99. Yes, that's right, one dollar and ninety nine cents. For awhile I thought of listing it onto my shop but decided to keep it, and I am glad I did! It is such an edgy and statement piece and looks great with my new fur vest!Thrifted vintage half polkadots half sheer blouse.

This vintage sweater is equally cozy and ornamental. I like how the individual shape of the southwestern print looks a bit like an ornament! I put together this outfit rather spontaneously because sometimes I wake up not wanting to wear what I had planned the night before. It is all about mixing and matching... chunky knit and bold pattern with soft hue and dainty lace. And on a nine-hour work day I like to wear comfy shoes, these vintage Salvatore Ferragamo oxfords are so amazing that I walked all over Paris in them last year. As you can see, they are a bit worn and well loved.

I went home to Oakland this past weekend to visit my family. Although it is only an hour and fifteen minutes from Santa Cruz, I rarely make the trip. During our brief visit, we grabbed brunch at the delicious Bacheeso's, had hot pot dinner at my parents', and brought home tons of Chinese pastries! It was a gorgeous day and so we went down to take some photos at Lake Merritt which was only three blocks from my parents'. This lake is full of memories, growing up I would drive by it, bike along it, and walk around it. This is also where Chris took me on a gondola ride (yes, they have authentic gondola imported from Venice) and proposed to me earlier this year. We took photos at the end of the lake where there is this nice pathway full of columns.
I have MANY coats... wool coats, fur coats, leather coats, suede coats, trench coats, etc. You name it, I probably have it. I recently purchased this vintage wool coat with chinchilla fur collar and cuffs. I really don't need another wool coat but I was really drawn to the deep wine burgundy color, and how could I resist the ultra soft chinchilla fur? I paired it with a simple dress, matched it with my Dooney & Bourke purse, and dressed it up with my tapestry litas.

Looks like I am having way too much fun being all wrapped up in different textures and patterns... cable knit long sweater, holey knit pullover, ribbed knit scarf, pointelle knit tights, floral corduroy shorts, floral tapestry bag, and crochet booties! Honestly, I did not realize I have so many kinds of knit going on until just now as I am writing this... and I love it!

The air feels crisp and smells like fireplace, I can finally say fall is here! Just last week I was still wearing shorts but the past few days I have been wrapped in layers. This vintage Missoni-esque thick sweater coat is a statement piece... gorgeous autumnal colors in fun pattern with the perfect amount of chunkiness! Oh, and look at those slight bell sleeves too!
